The bound edition. Black board, gold foil, the wordmark set in black against it: a book made to be shelved and kept, not opened once and discarded.

Inside, the elixir sits in a cushioned well cut into the inlay. Lift the tube and the seal beneath it carries your number: one of five hundred, struck for this color alone. Crow's Head is numbered in its own sequence. No. 047 of Crow's Head and No. 047 of Roseblood are different objects, held by different people.

Five hundred copies. When the edition closes, it is not reprinted.

What it does

Crow's Head is deposit only: it adds color and lifts none. On pre-lightened hair it gives its full result: a dense, cool black. On natural light hair, unbleached, it gives a deep, cool near-black that reads black indoors; fine, low-porosity hair takes less, and holds it for less time. On brown hair it deepens and cools what is there: black indoors, very dark brown in daylight. On hair already dark it is a gloss more than a change.

It does not lighten, and no semi-permanent color can. For the full black on dark hair, the hair must be lightened first, which is its own work, and not part of the Rite.

It is not made to conceal gray.

One bottle colors short to medium hair, to the shoulder. Hair past the shoulder, long, or thick needs two or more.

It is semi-permanent, and not made to last. Nothing is. It fades gradually with each wash, and that is the intention. When it dims, renew yourself with the House Edition.

Shampoo without conditioning twelve hours before. Wash it seldom, in cool water, with sulfate-free, color-safe care.
